Fredericia player sold back to old club: FFK gets new keeper. Valdemar Birksø is sold back to FC Fredericia, where he came from in 2025. Birksø played only one official game for FFK, when he was injured in the 0-0 game away against Tromsø. In the same game, Birksø was long-term injured, and FFK signed U21 national team goalkeeper Martin Børsheim. The injury to Birksø kept him out of the game for the entire autumn season. Now, half a year after he joined the club, Valdemar is sold back to his old club FC Fredericia in the Danish Superliga. - Thanks for the time I've had in the club. Fredericia is a lovely and enthusiastic football town. I wish FFK all the best for the new season, says the goalkeeper who has never let in a goal for FFK. - Makes sense for all parties. With four goalkeepers on contract, this was a solution that gave us a more balanced goalkeeper team in numbers, and a solution that seems to suit all involved parties well. - Valdemar played a very good game against Tromsø before he unfortunately got injured. Due to the precarious situation, we had to bring in a goalkeeper on short notice. When Fredericia came on the pitch and we could find a solution, it made sense for all parties, says sports director Anders Jensen and adds: - We wish Valdemar all the best for the future and have appreciated the time we've had together.
